Four SEC teams have higher national championship odds than Alabama

The oddsmakers in Las Vegas do not see the University of Alabama winning a national championship in football in the first season without Nick Saban in the fall.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, four teams in the Southeastern Conference have higher odds of winning a College Football Playoff National Championship than Alabama. Georgia has the highest odds of any team, SEC or not, to win a national championship at +300. Georgia (+300), Texas (+750), Ole Miss (+1400), and LSU (+1400) are ahead of the Crimson Tide. Ohio State, a Big Ten program, is also ahead of Alabama at +400.

The Tide is in chapter two of its LANK mindset with Jalen Milroe at quarterback. Last season, the team was not expected to win a conference championship but it battled through. Alabama defeated Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and made it to the College Football Playoff. It wants to avenge its loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl and end a three-year national championship drought.

Some are not expecting Alabama to be successful in Kalen DeBoer’s first year, but here is an opportunity for him to show the world who he and this team are.
